What have been your achievements so far?

I love running. I enjoy going to Parkrun (5km) every Saturday with mum. I will be running my 50th Parkrun soon. I also run 4 days a week at school, and have just joined Little Athletics. In 2016 I traveled to Sydney to attend Christian Schools State Cross Country. I came 3rd out of more than 100 runners in my age group. I also attended Christian Schools State Athletics Carnival. I placed 3rd in the 200m and 2nd in the 400m.

Why did you apply for the McDonald’s Junior Grants Program?

I have never had professional training and after last year’s achievements I want to see if I can get faster by improving my technique. As part of my training I will also get help with faster starts. A benefit of good running technique while I am young is that I am less likely to get running injuries when I am older. I will need to buy good quality new shoes soon as my feet keep growing. This will also help me to stay injury-free.

How will the McDonald’s Junior Grants Program help you?

If I receive a McDonald’s Junior Grant it will help with the cost of training and traveling to Sydney to represent my school and the Clarence Valley. It is over 600km to Sydney so a McDonald’s Juniors Grant would also help with the cost of traveling to represent the Clarence Valley.
