Coffs Harbour Comets U 12’s
WHAT HAVE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS BEEN SO FAR?
As an experienced long time Volunteer Junior Rugby League Comets Club & Representative Coach, I am in coming weeks about to, again commence pre season training and preparation for my second year with this very talented and respectful group of Under 12 boys.
I am approaching your local business organisation for a grant to provide them, as a group, to participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity & sporting experience in July this year in Tamworth. It is an annual weekend competitive Rugby League sporting carnival known as the National Primary Games proudly supported by The Australian Olympic Committee which is attended by current & former Olympians ,where the participants can proudly represent their region & club.
WHY DID YOU APPLY FOR THIS GRANT?
The main reason I am applying for your most generous and community minded gesture of offering local junior sporting team grant opportunities is to both reward & inspire this team of young men, maybe a dream or experience which would not be possible without some financial support, taking into account the socio economic & single family situation in which the majority of the squad unfortunately find themselves which could be the platform for each of them realising a future dream or lifetime ambition.
HOW WILL THIS GRANT BENEFIT YOU? AND HOW DO YOU PLAN ON USING IT?
The associated costs include travel, accommodation, food & team entrance fee and a Team Grant of $500 would substantially lessen the burden and hardship most of these families are dealing with each and every day.
WHAT ARE YOUr HOPES AND DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE?
As I have been involved in Rugby League and other competitive sports for many years, both as a player & coach the memories and enjoyment which I have been fortunate enough to accumulate over the years has never left me and this inspiration allows me to continue to teach and mentor young sportspersons and encourage some of the same experiences and possible lifelong friendships as well as an awareness of life expectations and how to deal with success and failure and my personal ongoing hope and dream is to leave, maybe just a small footprint in each of their life’s journey.
WHO INSPIRES YOU THE MOST?
Probably for me personally the most inspirational people in my life has been my parents who have both unfortunately passed on many years ago but taught me how to ‘Aim High’, ‘Never Give Up’ and how to deal with adversity in life.
The main message they installed in me was ‘To Gain Respect’ it is necessary to always ‘Give Respect’ to others.
