WHAT HAVE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS BEEN SO FAR?

My Greatest achievement in hockey would be my Recent selection into the NSW u15s Blues indoor hockey team. I have also played for Northern Territory in April this year at the u15s national championships, I am currently in the NSW AAP squad which is the accelerated athlete’s program I will be in this for a year. it is the NSW u18s squad. I have also been in an NSW u15s hockey squad. I also currently attend NEGS in Armidale which is a sports boarding school where I am on a Talented athletes scholarship. I have represented Grafton in hockey almost every year since I was 11.

WHY DID YOU APPLY FOR THIS GRANT?

I applied for this grant as being in squads and teams can get very expensive and any amount of money can help. For this specific grant, it would help pay for my trip to Wollongong to play at nationals. Hockey is extremely important to me and I strive to do my very best in every game I play. This doesn’t stop with games though it begins with my commitment to training and fitness. I always turn up for training early and always push myself to be as fit as possible. I am applying for this as my mum is a single parent with three kids one being me at boarding school can be very hard with money and everything counts.

HOW WILL THIS GRANT BENEFIT YOU? AND HOW DO YOU PLAN ON USING IT?

This grant will benefit me a lot as it will help pay for uniforms and travel to Nationals. competing at Nationals representing NSW will be my greatest achievement and I want to be able to take all of it in, This includes being able to participate in all team outings, paying for uniforms, travel to get there, accommodation and payment for food while there.

WHAT ARE YOU HOPES AND DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE?

My hopes and dreams for the future are to hopefully continue to get into NSW teams and one day be able to compete in the Australian hockey team. This will take determination and drive but I already have that and its all up to my skill and whether I make it or not. Regardless if I don’t make any more teams I am so happy with the achievements I have made so far and wouldn’t want to change the way any of it has happened.

WHO INSPIRES YOU THE MOST?

My mother inspires me the most, she is the most beautiful person I have ever encountered, she is sweet and caring. Honestly, I don’t know how she does all that she does. She inspires me the most as she is so strong and even when things goes wrong she doesn’t give up and she is such a determined person with the most amazing attitude to life.
