WHAT HAVE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS BEEN SO FAR?

I have been the captain of the Nambucca Bellingen Rep cricket team for 3 years. I have been part of the north coast cricket academy for 4 years and have been selected to play for them each year at carnivals in Newcastle, the Gold Coast and Yamba. I also played T 20 under 16’s. Last year I helped coach and umpire for the Nambucca under 12 team.
I was joint winner of most wickets in senior men’s cricket last season and I won best young player of the season in that grade.

WHY DID YOU APPLY FOR THIS GRANT?

Training for North Coast takes me to Grafton and Maclean on a regular basis plus each carnival is run over 5 days which incurs high travel and accommodation costs. During the season I usually play 3 games each weekend plus umpiring. It’s a lot of travelling.

HOW WILL THIS GRANT BENEFIT YOU? AND HOW DO YOU PLAN ON USING IT?

I would like to try to join the indigenous cricket training squad which is based in Sydney. This grant would help cover the cost of travel and accommodation for that plus assist with my North Coast Academy carnival costs.

I’d also like to take the umpires course so I can umpire at higher level games in the future.

WHAT ARE YOU HOPES AND DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE?

I’d like to be selected for the Bradman cup cricket team and to travel overseas with Lyons cricket.
