Grant Recipient : T.S Vendetta
Number of Children: 15
Why does the T.S Vendetta need the McDonald’s Junior Grant? At the moment the members do not have shirts to wear for events. Being able to wear team shirts will give the Coffs Harbour Unit a sense of identity, increase team spirit, pride and solidarity. In 2016, one of the participating Coffs Harbour teams won the Jacaranda Festival Regatta (Grafton) and received their trophy without team shirts. They also attended annual events such as training, competed in mini olympics and traveled to Nowra for training at HMAS Albatross. Our cadets would have benefited from having team shirts at all of these events. Having team shirts will also promote the Coffs Harbour region, make the team f identifiable and raise the team profile.
In what way can the McDonald’s Junior Grant help your club? A McDonalds grant would greatly help our Navy Cadet Unit to purchase team shirts to be worn when representing Coffs Harbour at regattas, excursions and training exercises.
What are your hopes for the clubs’ future in your local community? The Australian Navy Cadets aims to build teamwork and leadership skills in young people through exciting and rewarding adventure and maritime activities and quality learning opportunities. ANC teaches teens how to sail, navigate and gain skills in everything from information technology, communications, cooking, first aid to drill, seamanship, survival skills and many more exciting activities. Many of our cadets have later moved into careers with the Australian Military.
